CCT in partnership with Tearfund(UK) has embarked in scaling up of CCMP among CCT Members and other churches. This expansion has begun with capacity building for resource persons who will serve as CCMP Master Trainers. The role of the Master Trainers is to train the facilitators who will then lead the CCMP process in the communities. The Master Trainers class for 2017-2018 has 9 trainees, who have also been attached to 9 dioceses for practice.

For one 7 days from 6th to 12th of October, the class met at Mwanza for second module training. This training comes after putting into practice the first training. Therefore the meeting started with feedback of the first training, before digging into the second module which will also be followed by 4 months of practice.

Church and Community Mobilization Process (CCMP) is a participatory approach whereby the church makes a discovery journey through a series of Bible studies. The result of this process is a transformed church and community. Although it is new among development approaches, it is quickly becoming one of the most acceptable approaches in the church, especially among CCT members.

The surge in the interest for deploying CCMP has respectively brought about the demand for CCMP resources persons, namely facilitators and trainers. This increase in demand has matched with the need for CCT and partners like Tearfund, whereby there is an interest to invest more in the cost-effective and sustainable projects like CCMP. For that matter, Tearfund (UK) has been supporting this scale-up effort while CCT has been coordinating the implementation.

Currently, the trainees, in their practical training, have reached a total of 15 churches with a combined congregation size of 1,565. The dioceses involved are Diocese of Mount Kilimanjaro (ACT), Diocese of Kondoa (ACT), Diocese of Kagera (ACT), Iringa Diocese (ELCT), Diocese of Geita (AICT), Diocese of Rift Valley (ACT), Diocese of Tabora (AICT), Diocese of Shirati (KMT) and Diocese of Mara and Ukerewe (AICT).
